are you a savvy bride, vancouver?

Last Sunday, we had the pleasure of participating in the Savvy Bride's second annual wedding show, held at the Kirkland House, in Ladner. Now I should preface that the night prior, I held a burrito birthday festivus for the restivus in honour of my girlfriend Danna's birthday. With the subsequent night of beans and cheese that eventually lead to cocktails, games and shenanigans, it's needless to say, waking up at 8am Sunday morning was not the easiest thing to do!

We arrived just before 10am to set up our wee 4' display table amongst the rest of our Vancouver Chic team.

Brainchild of Kerry Reid, Wedding Coach Extraordinaire of Fairy Godmother Weddings, the show consisted of three separate areas: two outdoor tents on the sprawling lawn of the Kirkland House and the third held inside of the house, we were split into teams with vendors of all different facets of weddings. Lead by the decor company/person of each team, we were handed a theme for the day and with it, decorated our team area with pieces from each of our companies.

Because of our theme designation (we were part of the cocktail theme wedding with tall boy tables and lounge seats) we couldn't really participate in the decor for our "set". Not a big deal to us, we decided to focus our efforts on making the best, kick-ass display table.

With an idea nurtured in Beans' head, we decided to plant and grow (for this very occasion) pots of wheat grass that we would use on our table to display our fun invitations. Along with it, we included one of our display boxes to showcase a full stationery invitation set, our portfolio and our fantastic array of business cards.

The day proved to be fantastically fun (with minor set backs in organizing a snack run) with fashion shows happening every couple of hours and yummmmy food in every area for brides, friends (and us!) to snack on.

With the sun shining all day and a lot of happy faces walking around, we were truly inspired by the tenacity Kerry has shown in putting an event of this size together (and in kicks, no less!).

Congratulations to Kerry and all our new and old friends that we had a chance to spend the day with! We loved every minute!

P.S. Did I ever tell you how much I like pork, pork products, especially the whole bacon family? It's TRUE. My only shot as photog for the day:
