The Details
Location: Oshawa, Ontario, Canada
Venue: Club Loreley
Photographer: Walid Lodin
Our involvement: custom wedding invitations, RSVP website, wine labels, guestbook sign, CD cover and label design

I was there on that exciting December morning when Trevor and Max went to Canadian Tire and we all experienced a minor mental spasm calculating how many strands of Christmas lights you might need to write "Will you marry me" in the snow. We underestimated quite a bit but that didn't bring Trevor down or change his mind about how he was going to pop the question. She said YES and on 08.08.08 they were joined with our friends and family for a Schenk and Mcewen wedding.

Mandy and Trevor wanted us to help them right from the start, as if they had a choice, and I was more than happy to let my family know how awesome Albertine and I are. Mission accomplished. It's also a pleasure to be able to help out family when you can, especially when it's something you love to do...(read on here)

Mandy and Trevor • 080808

I got my first glance at Trevor's wedding pictures last night. They look fantastic!!! Since this is the first wedding of the siblings, and because I love my family so much, I'm going to post a gazillion photos. Oh you love it!

Of course, Dwight had to have the funniest speech.

I love the guys in the background.

He'll understand when he's older.

My mom took care of the chocolate fondue. It was a hit.

My bad-ass sister-in-law. She'll come after you if you bug me.

Max The Entertainer

I love this kid.

He made all the girls cry that night.

My mom didn't cry until Bon Jovi came on at the very end.
Oh and this is a very sweet picture of my mom and brother.

Brody's first day of school

Just received these, thanks to book of face, and wanted to share with you my concern for the teachers and fellow students of my little nephew Brody Schenk. Don't get me wrong, he's awesome and my little buddy, but MAN oh MAN is he in his own little world. I hear he enjoyed his first day.

If he didn't change at all or experience any more in life, I'd say he would grow up to be a Spiderman impersonator or the Prime Minister of Canada. It could go either way.

I love that Brody's first day of school was a family affair. I would have been there too with a sign that said "Close your mouth when you chew your food! Don't ask me why. Just do it. No? Go to your room."

Still in Ontario...

I have some time between visits and games to write a quick hello; I'm taking advantage while it lasts. We're still in rainy Ontario for another day or two and, but I can't speak for Teenie, I am looking forward to a bit of summer sun in Vancouver.

It's been looking a lot like this at my parent's place in Oshawa, Ontario...

But a few main events have already taken place. Trevor and Mandy's wedding was a big party, with a few minor moments of drama (which will be funny in about 2 to 5 years) but for the most part it was a beautiful night of two very different families coming together to dance the night away.

Because I'm Aunty Bwina, I got to take care of the nephews for the first chunk of the night. They were a bit hyper, and obviously very excited because of the attention they were getting...which makes them even more excitable...so I did my best, and so did Alex and Rod. It was 3 adults on 2 kids and we barely got them to sit long enough to take down one meatball.

I'll have more pictures in the coming weeks from the photographer and from my own collection. It being my brother's wedding, I didn't want to be the one behind the camera, so I don't have much.

We'll get back to business soon enough though. I need to beat my dad in cribbage a few more times before I get on that plane.

My friends Linda, Lisa, Layla and Laura turned 30 on Monday. It didn't pass without a big bbq at their mom's house with 50 to 60 people. It was really nice to see everyone and catch up. I'll try and get pictures from them too. SIGH. I haven't been good with taking pictures lately.
