pack, drive, unpack

We did it! I am now settled in Fernie, B.C, or as settled as you can be in 2 days, and I'm just starting to breathe a little and look around me. It's so beautiful here. Today I'll tell my moving story in pictures...

1. Packing. Thanks, Dana and Rod!! We're a good team.

2. The loading. For the first 6 hours, of the 15 hour road trip, we were terrified that the truck will tip over. After 6 stops at the side of the highway in the first 7 km, we decided to get the plastic wrap out and secure the tarp like real shippers would. Rod is so smart.

3. Driving across British Columbia. No problems at all, other than a terrible accident that happened just outside of Invermere, which had us sitting at the side of the road for almost an hour. That's not so much a problem for us as for the people involved in the accident. In the picture to the right you can see the shadow of our questionably loaded truck.

4. Unpacking. I basically unpacked the whole trailer and truck on my own. I am a MACHINE!

5. Living in Fernie. Chopping wood, gorgeous sun sets, photographing Fernie and working in my new fabulous office...

South Granville office & South Main office

Well we moved, smoothed and now we groove. Sorry that was lame. We did move though, as I mentioned earlier, it went smoothly.

So now things are turning into slight normality, we can post pictures and let things flow as they should.

Let's begin the Blue Skies & Daisies tour with our head office, in South Granville where Teenie will be spending most of her days being the queen of the castle that she is.
It's so spacious and welcoming isn't it?
She really knows how to make space work for her and Benny. It makes me want to work there.

And here is Albertine hard at work in her new and improved office.
Moving on to the South Main office, this is where I, Brina Schenk, work my magic. I'm letting you in on my secrets...not really though. Oh you wish!!
I reside in a spacious attic and have turned my space into a creative beast. It's a bit of heaven for me. Here is a picture of me enjoying myself.

There you have it. I hope you enjoyed your tour. Please feel free to drop in and say hi. We'd love to have you!

The Big Move

So we finally did it. We moved out of the Duncan Building quite seamlessly last week and into two new (yet old) power houses. There's the south granville office, which is run by Albertine, and the south main office has Brina in charge. But don't worry, all our contact information is the same...we are the same, we just have more parking spaces. Hooray!!

You better believe we'll be posting pictures soon. Fantastic!

almost half june

it's the 11th of june already! Time is flying by and we've noticed that summer hasn't really hit vancouver yet. Sneaky summer! You can't fool us! This has been a good and bad thing. Good because we aren't tempted to collect vitamin D in the park during a long lunch break. We are 2 very hard working women when it's rainy and cold. Bad because we're not in our tube tops, short shorts and pumps!! haha kidding! but seriously, I like tube tops. haha no i don't. yes I do. no i don't. i really do.

The key to our success is definitely not rainy days...but here's an update of some of the stuff going on during these productive days. I've made a list.

1. We're on client #238!! Our mothers are so proud.
2. Recently we were featured in an Irish wedding magazine called Confetti. (They are sending a copy in the mail. A soon as we receive it, we'll scan and post cuz it's pretty freak'n exciting.) This has started a fantastic European trend for us. Lots of overseas couples inquiring about our invitations! that. is. very. cool.
3. We love our production table, designed by Ben Krich.
4. We've settled in nicely to our new office. Thought the transition would be difficult, but it wasn't at all. Working from home definitely had it's perks but there's no going back now. We are free :D
5. Teenie participated in the vancouver bike to work week (from may 28th to june 3rd), thanks to her new rocky mountain metro 10. In the end, she was the beautiful blue skies and daisies team leader, participation 100%, finished 10 commutes, co2 savings were 9.80 kg, 187 calories burnt and did a total of 33 km. AMAZING!! Good job, teenie!!
